SK Graduation

graduationWe had our senior kindergarten graduation today. The SK’s sang “Dynamite”, a song about graduating, missing friends, teachers and celebrating the good times. The seniors told the audience what they would miss the most as they move on to grade 1: the JK’s, free-choice, reader’s workshop, the teachers and our friends, etc.  The JK’s joined the SK’s and sang “The Magic Penny Song” and then received their graduation diplomas. Thank you to those families that were able to attend our graduation. We did see many happy tears by our parents and even Mrs. McLeod had happy tears. Hard to believe the year has almost come to an end. Wishing all families a happy and safe summer!

Trip to Rounds Ranch Elmvale

PicMonkey Collage rounds ranch take 2We travelled by bus to Rounds Ranch in Elmvale last week. We were able to pet many farm animals, zipped on the zipline, travelled through a maze of hay bails, rode the buckaroo bouncer and did many other fun activities. We had ourselves a rompin’ good time!  Yee-Haw! Thank you to our parent volunteers for joining in on the fun.

Visiting Bradford Public Library

LibraryWe walked to the Bradford Public Library on Tuesday. The children had a tour with librarian Zarena and story time with librarian Michelle. The children heard about the summer reading program and all the fun activities at the library this summer. The big hit was seeing the book sorting machine and we were able to try it out with books and DVD’s. Thank you to the librarians for an exciting visit!

Chicks in Our Classroom

Chicks

The chicks have hatched!! We had 7 eggs in the incubator and 6 have hatched so far. 3 are in Miss. Palframan’s classroom and 3 are in ours. The first born is a little fiesty and has been pecking her siblings. We were able to watch them hatch via facetime. The children noticed the chicks had to rest lots as they kept working hard to come out of their shell. The children noticed the chicks were wet when they first came out but they soon dried and looked like fluffy, round balls. They have fresh water and feed and a heat lamp to keep them warm.  We can’t stop watching them!
